When will the Symposium be?

The live events will take place over the weekend of the 12-13 June 2021 in various time zones, but we will be doing some mini webinars in the lead up so everyone can practice.

What is included in my DFZ 2021 registration?

You will receive access to the live symposium presentations and panel discussions as well as lifetime access to the recordings and 11 online workshops which cover a variety of bobbin and needle lace techniques as well as a couple of bonuses to push your creativity! We will also produce an e-book about the featured artists which will be sent to you in June 2021.

What will I need to participate in the Workshops?

You can see a materials list for the workshops here.

How much does registration cost?

Registration for DFZ 2021 costs US$239

Do I need to know how to make lace?

No! Actually I know a whole team of tutors who would love to teach you, and I will be running monthly classes on the platform to get everyone ready for lace camp.

How long will I have access to the workshops?

As long as DFZ is around! So you can work through them at your own pace or even go back over them multiple times.

Where will the symposium and Lace Camp be held?

We will host it on an app named Namastream. It is an online teaching software which was developed by two really inspiring, independent women, just the kind of people we love to support. When you sign up for DFZ 2021 you will be taken to the app where you will be asked to create a user name and log in, then you will have your very own virtual Doily Free Zone.

What if I am not good with technology?

You can get in touch with us here and we will try to help you. We will do some practice presentations so everyone feels confident.

How long are the workshops?

We have planned them to be the equivalent of live 2-day workshops and each has between 1.5 and 2 hours of video divided into lessons which guide you through the course one step at a time.

Can men sign up for Lace Camp?

Of course! DFZ is for everyone who loves lace!

Who organizes DFZ?

DFZ is hosted by TextileSupport and is the brainchild of the director Angharad Rixon you can find out more about her here.

What if I love doilies?
