Lindy de Wijn
Lindy has a degree as an Occupational Therapist and Masters in Public Art and this has shaped her strong belief in the power of the arts and creativity in health and wellbeing. Lindy is a lace maker and public artist who in recent years has combined her skills to produce an array of public art outcomes in lace. Lindy is a process driven artist, where the journey of creation is often as important as the aesthetic outcome.
Lindy will share some insights into her practice including sharing some ins and outs of producing lace that is designed for public spaces. From small scale guerrilla projects to large scale commissions, Lindy will cover an array of projects and demonstrate how traditional techniques can be adapted to create site specific works in a contemporary world. This presentation will focus on tips and techniques for creating temporary public artworks.
