As well as being a forum about the future of lace in art & design, DFZ also aims to be an incubator for a new generation of makers interested in exploring the possibilities of handmade lace techniques.

For the 2022 edition we will be sponsoring 10 scholarships for students currently enrolled in tertiary courses of: Art, Fashion, Textile & Industrial Design, Jewelry, Architecture, Engineering and Mathematics. 

How to apply:

 

Applications can be submitted via Instagram, simply tag us @doily_free_zone with three images of your work (it doesn't have to be lace) and a few lines about why you would like to learn more about lace. 

Please include the hashtags #whymakelace? & #DFZ2022

Scholarship recipients will be announced on the following dates:

  • February 5

  • February 19

  • March 5

  • March 19

  • April 6

  • April 16

  • April 30

  • May 14

  • May 28

What is included?

  • Participation in the DFZ 2022 Symposium which will be held online June 11-12, 2022 (all of the presentations will also be recorded and stored in your user area)

  • Lifetime access to all the 11 Lace Camp workshops

  • A copy of the 2022 digital catalogue
